The K-4 race is about .8 of a mile. It is a simple out & back course.
Parking can be a bit difficult, but there is parking on both sides of the park and at the Gymkhana.
The 3-5 race is about 1.25 miles long, following the same course, but turning at Taylor Way and then returning to the finish.
The 6-8 race goes right on Taylor way and follows the Mad River on the levee. It is 1.8 miles long.
Winship Middle School is located at
2500 Cypress Ave, Eureka, CA 95503. There is some parking in the lot in front of the school, but when it is full, it will be necessary to park along Cypress, Cedar or Walnut Drive.
The three courses are shown above. The black line is the K-4 race, which is one lap around the field. The 3-5 runners run 1 1/2 laps, so they finish on the blue line The 6-8 grade runners run two full laps.
We are very lucky to have Winship on our schedule. Please keep runners on the field and make sure you keep track of your athletes when they are not running.
The Willow Creek Race (Bigfoot Run) is held on the Bigfoot Golf Course, 333 Bigfoot Ave, in Willow Creek. It is a very simple and enjoyable course if it is not too hot.
Take the left turn just past the turnoff to Hoopa on Country Club Drive. Cross the Trinity River and take a left at the stop sign onto Patterson Road. Continue on Patterson Road and take a right on Bigfoot Road (Golf Course Turnoff). Immediately go left onto Fairway and park.
The courses will be explained at the meet.
To get to Rohner Park, take the Main Street turnoff and follow Main Street to Rohner Park which is on the left. There is quite a bit of parking, but the lot could fill, so come early.
The K-2 race is about 1/2 mile and will be well marked.
The 3-5 race course is about 1.25 miles and has one hill. All these race have a lot of locations to see the runners.
The 6-8 race is about 1.7 miles long and has two hills. It's a fairly challenging course with a lot of dirt trails & roads.
There are rumors of cupcakes being given to all runners who complete the courses.
The grass at the Arcata Community Center makes a great running course unless it gets too much rain. There is lots of parking so everyone should be able to park close to the race course.
HealthSport is also at this locations so everyone must be courteous so we can continue to use this venue.
The 3-5 and 6-8 courses are 1.9 miles and runners follow the yellow line for the first lap and the silver line for the second lap. The K-4 runners follow the silver line. Both laps are identical except for the turn to the finish line. the red lines are the start and finish lines.
