Parking for Trinidad Race

From Highway 101 North, take the Trinidad exit, go under the freeway, and take the first left past the market. Park in the field just beyond the back of the market.

Winship Middle School is located at

 2500 Cypress Ave, Eureka, CA 95503. There is some parking in the lot in front of the school, but when it is full, it will be necessary to park along Cypress, Cedar or Walnut Drive. The race begins at 4:30 so the buses and parents can pick up students before the meet. Please arrive after 4:00.

The three courses are shown above. The black line is the K-2 race, which is one lap around the field. The 3-5 runners run 1 1/2 laps, so they finish on the red line. This 3-5 course was changed to adjust to the timing system.  The 6-8 grade runners run two full laps.

We are very lucky to have Winship on our schedule. Please keep runners on the field and make sure you keep track of your athletes when they are not running. 

McKinleyville Clam Beach Invitational: Saturday., Sept. 26

Parking

Parking will be crowded so come early. Park in the south Clam Beach gravel parking lot (the first Clam Beach Exit from the south) or along the Clam Beach Frontage road. Take the trail from the gravel parking lot to the beach.

Information

The Clam Beach Invitational is not one of HRRAY's official races, but it is a lot of fun. It costs $5.00 per runner. The TK-5 race begins after the high school races and the 6-8 race begins after the TK-5 race.

All races start and finish at the north end of the parking lot and run around the campus. The K-2 race is about .7 of a mile. Click this link to get athletic.net information.

The 3-5 race is about 1.3 miles and takes a scenic trail behind the school

There is lots of parking. Take the first exit into CR and look for the flagging that will indicate the finish line.

The 6-8 race is 1.8 miles and also takes a trail behind the school. 

Reed Elmore, the CR coach and his runners will be helping out, so be sure to thank them.

Mutual Indemnification and Release of Liability

The Mutual Indemnification below is for team entries. The Release of Liability is for individual entries. Every athlete must be entered as a team or bring the Release of Liability with them to the meet. Parents may fill at a form at the race. It is easier for teams to have the form sent in using the Mutual Indemnification form. Your District Office should be able to help fill out the form.

Willow Creek Course Information

Parking for Willow Creek

The Willow Creek Race (Bigfoot Run) is held on the Bigfoot Golf Course,  333 Bigfoot Ave, in Willow Creek. It is a very simple and enjoyable course if it is not too hot.

Willow Creek Directions

Take the left turn just past the turnoff to Hoopa on Country Club Drive. Cross the Trinity River and take a left at the stop sign onto Patterson Road. Continue on Patterson Road and take a right on Bigfoot Road (Golf Course Turnoff). Immediately go left onto Fairway and park.

Bigfoot is famous in Willow Creek, but he has never won this race, but he hopes to soon.

The courses will be explained at the meet.

Rohner Park Course Information

To get to Rohner Park, take the Main Street turnoff and follow Main Street to Rohner Park which is on the left. There is quite a bit of parking, but the lot could fill, so come early.

The K-2 race is about 1/2 mile and will be well marked.

The 3-5 race course is about 1.25 miles and has one hill. All these race have a lot of locations to see the runners.

The 6-8 race is about 1.7 miles long and has two hills. It's a fairly challenging course with a lot of dirt trails & roads.

There are rumors of cupcakes being given to all runners who complete the courses.

Championship Course Information

Arcata Community Center

The grass at the Arcata Community Center makes a great running course unless it gets too much rain. There is lots of parking so everyone should be able to park close to the race course.

HealthSport is also at this locations so everyone must be courteous so we can continue to use this venue.

 

Race Courses

The 3-5 and 6-8 courses are 1.9 miles and runners follow the yellow line for the first lap and the silver line for the second lap. The K-2 runners follow the silver line. Both laps are identical except for the turn to the finish line. The red lines are the start and finish lines.

The Rotary Club of Arcata Sunrise has been our main sponsor for this event, providing support from the members of the Rotary Club for award recognition. The club purchases the top 10 awards in each age category. We hope all the award winners will be able to stay to receive their awards.
